Mold and air quality testing

mold inspection in Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is Israel's coldest city, and its mold is different: less sea humidity, more condensation. Jerusalem stone and thick concrete walls stay cold all winter, and warm, moist air from heating and cooking condenses on them at night. In neighbourhoods like Katamon, Baka and Rehavia, in Arab houses and old stone buildings, there is also rising damp from the ground and basements. In the new towers of Arnona and Givat HaMivtar the problem is sealed windows through a long winter. We come to Jerusalem regularly, including public buildings and schools.

What is different here

why mold grows in Jerusalem.

  • A long cold winter: condensation on stone and concrete walls
  • Old stone houses with basements and rising damp
  • Schools and public buildings with insufficient ventilation

How it works

from the call to the report.

  1. A short call

Tell us what you saw, what you smell and what you already tried. We set a time that suits you in Jerusalem.

  2. The visit

A room by room walk with a moisture meter, a thermal camera and an air sampling pump. One to two hours in most homes.

  3. The lab

Samples go to an accredited lab. Species identification and concentrations usually take one to two weeks.

  4. A clear report

A digital report with a risk score per room, what was found, and what to fix first. We answer every question after it lands.

Common questions

before you book in Jerusalem.

In an old Jerusalem stone house the walls are thick. Why is there mold anyway?

Thick stone warms and cools slowly: in winter it stays cold for weeks after the outside has warmed, and warm humid air from the home condenses on it. The old wall fill also absorbs water from the roof and the ground and releases it inward. The inspection separates condensation from moisture coming through the stone, because the treatment is entirely different.

Our Jerusalem flat is on a half-sunken ground floor. What is checked first?

The walls that touch the ground and the floor. In hillside neighbourhoods water runs downslope and stops at the lower floor's wall. A moisture meter along the base of the walls shows whether water is coming in from outside, in which case the fix is drainage and sealing from outside, not anti-mold paint.

How much does a mold inspection in Jerusalem cost?

The price follows the size of the property and the number of samples needed, not the city. After a short call you get a written, no obligation quote listing what is included. There is no travel surcharge for Jerusalem.

How soon can you inspect in Jerusalem?

Usually within a few days, and for urgent cases like a flood or a fresh leak we try to come sooner. Our team leaves from Ra'anana and visits Jerusalem regularly.

Do you also remove the mold?

No. We inspect, measure and report, and we do not do remediation. That keeps the report objective, and the contractor works from findings rather than an estimate. We are happy to recommend professionals around Jerusalem.
